Wawona and Yosemite Valley (Day 2&3)

June 14

Probably my last series of photos of Yosemite for a while, so I hope you enjoy them.  These are from the second and third day of my latest trip to Yosemite, and like always click the pictures to get a better view.

A metate – I found it near the Wawona Hotel next to the river.  Used by Native Americans to grind the Black Oak Acorn.

Wild Flowers – A small meadow about a mile east of the Wawona

Washburn Point –  We were working our way to Glacier Point and this little vista caught our eyes.  Notice the two falls, Nevada Falls (upper and with a rainbow), and Vernal Falls (lower).

Towards Glacier Point – On our way.

Mr. Chipmunk – Oh hello there.

Glacier Point Vista – Finally here, this picture does not do justice to the incredible beauty of the valley. The two falls you see are actually one waterfall, Yosemite Falls. It is the tallest waterfall in North America. If you like this picture you’ll love the panorama.

Tunnel View – My attempt at a very classic Photo.

Bridal Veil Falls – Working our way back to 120

El Capitan – through the trees.

I didn’t get home till late, but it was very much worth the trip.
