Rethinking Movie Ticket Prices

June 23

I think that a movie’s cost should reflect it’s quality, much like everything else in life.  We could easily do this by multiplying the price of a movie ticket by the movie’s percentage on rotten tomatoes.

“Toy Story 3” has a rotten tomato score of 98%. “Grown Ups” has a rotten tomato score of 9%.  Multiply this by the ticket price of $10.

Toy Story 3 Ticket Price = $9.80,

Grown Ups Ticket Price = $0.90.

Production companies should be rewarded for making quality movies and penalized for making crappy movies, not the other way around.
